Training my kitties to hunt

.... and more importantly eat what they kill....

and you know how thats done eh...

yep feed em less... like humans cats become lazy and pathetic if they keep being spoonfed.  after feeding them a "catroll" the other day ive decided to not feed em for a day to clense the body of any not meat products that are in the food before i resume with a raw diet.  any food they get in the meantime is either from other ppl feeding them or "bush tucker" (rats, mice, birds etc)... which is what they actually should be eating.

Anyway weather cooling off here... still getting up to 70F during the day but a cool wind blowing now from the poles so yep winters on its way... teehee.

the last bastion of summer (daylight saving) is due to end in the next few weeks and then of course unity shadow will no longer be with us from early april until early september.

Anyway for the cats this means the occasional stint inside over night. i sometimes do this over winter on the really cold nights... temperaturewise... for bad weather they can shelter under the house.  Fleas.... a problem with cats coming indoors isnt as issue over winter as ill be keeping the house at around 55F to kill em off.... also means i wont need to use heaters... saving power.

Tango is now a cat

yep hes an adult now... turned one the other day. tried to celebrate by getting him a cicada but they remain elusive... despite hearing them everywhere... haha they prob know not to land on my patio now as i have a tendency to grab em by the wings from behind and feed them live to my cats... splash anyway... havent done tango yet....Splash loves them... protein snacks.

anyway ill get some pics of the kitties for you in the near future.. splash has fattened up nicely... not thenskinny kitty she once was.  i want them bigger for the coming winter to protect against the flu... which can kill cats... tango was sick last year and i helped nurse him back to full health... not with vaccines but with plenty of food and water... gave him warm water too... just like i five myself when im sick... does wonders.

believe it or not the kitties are the biggest factor influencing my relocating plans... as one of the places im considering.. an offshore island may not accept cats due to their status as "predators"... yeah they prey on rats... which are big killers of native birds... but anyway we have idiots for lawmakers as you guys are well aware. 

so in short ill prob stay at my current abode all the whilst both cats are alive. when they depart i prob wont be in the mood to stay here any longer anyway... but anyway lets see what happens.

at the mo they are young and healthy.
